I manually upgraded to ndiswrapper-1.52 and the bug is GONE.

Solution how-to:
1. Download the latest tarball from http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net.
2. Optionally, uninstall your current (old) ndiswrapper-* packages. I didn't do
it because ndiswrapper will "disable" them during installation.
3. tar xvzf ndiswrapper-1.52.tar.gz
4. cd ndiswrapper-1.52
5. sudo make uninstall
6. sudo make
7. sudo make install
