Did you do as Daniel instructed as well:

echo options snd-hda-intel model=laptop|sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d
/alsa-base

It looked like you had an extra space in "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base"
which was causing problems when you ran the command.  Thanks.
