Public bug reported: Running the up to date Edgy (2.6.17-10-generic) and the cpu frequency doesn't scale down when the computer is idle or on battery.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=267907 is the thread started on the forums regarding this. The laptop is a HP nx9420. I've tried powernowd, powersave and cpufreqd but none of them work. It appears to need a kernel module. Is this easily possible before release? ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Core2Duo powerstepping doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/63439 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
