Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-app-install
When trying to install two plugins at once, gnome-codec-install does not
provide any indication as to which packages are required to fulfill the
requirements.
The common case here is requiring an MP3 audio decoder and some video
decoder, in my case the Flash Video decoder. The prompt showed me the
gstreamer-ffmpeg and gstreamer-plugins-ugly packages, but gave no
inidication if both were required or if one was enough, and if so, which
one.
You can reproduce that using:
gnome-codec-install "gstreamer|0.10|foo|Flash Video
decoder|decoder-video/x-flash-video" "gstreamer|0.10|foo|Your
mom|decoder-audio/mpeg, mpegversion=(int)1, layer=(int)3"
