Similar for me, but I use only Latin characters languages. I write in italian, but using lots of english french spanish words (plus other languages). I use default english and set italian when needed. BUT when OOWriter finds for example a french word, he underlines it but on the right-click he let me choose if word or paragraph is spanish (?) or english (?) or italian or other unknown languages, but - guess what? - NEVER french. When word is english in a itlaian paragraph, the same. It almost NEVER guesses the right language even if he suggested that same language for the very previous word!!!! Seems like the database mistakes between known languages.
