This problem also seems to occur on my MSI-1221 laptop (aka System76 Darter Ultra 2) with the backlight having "a mind of its own". I've also noticed that the battery readings are very inaccurate. According to System76, this is related to issues with the dsdt tables. I don't know, but it's really annoying.
