Public bug reported:
Hi, well, this is case,
I did buy a MP3 player for my wife, at same time, she told me about
upgrade her PC from Edgy to Gutsy, how I wanna install LVM then I did
backup all the machine, and create it again.
My Surprise, when I did try to connect vi USB the MP3 Player and don't
automount the device, Y saw /dev and the device was there and they
partitions too. /dev/sdc /dev/sdc1.
Then I think that it's a problem of the pmount, but Gutsy don't use
pmount.
I did try to open the gnome-volume-properties and then this send an
error (attached).
Until I did reboot with the device plugged in, then all works excellent,
But If the machine is rebooted without it (MP3) plugged, then this can't
work and the gnome-volume-properties don't open.
Other problem is that if I try a 'ps -aux | grep hal' in the console, I
saw that the hald is not working, and some others device like audio
(record) device don't work.
Let me show you the machine:
(In this case I did boot with the device plugged in)
