I have installed Dapper, Feisty and Gutsy (several times in some cases)
from live cds on 4 different computers and installation of has always been very,
very slow compared to other distributions of linux of MS. It would take
always take several hours, sometimes 4 or more hours. It was particularly
slow on laptops, where OpenSUSE would install in about an hour. HOWEVER,
I am happy to report that the most recent version of Heron Alpha 4
(2.6.24-7-generic) installed as quickly as OpenSUSE on the
same machine.
