1. your ~/.xsession-errors file, /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of lspci 
-vvnn as separate attachments to this bug report
2. are you using gtk-window-decorator or emerald (you can check this via ps -ef 
| grep emerald while running desktop effects. Post the output here please!)
