Hi, I'm the author of the Wiki entry on the Lifebook P7120. I can second the observations above.
1a. Internal speakers are muted at first boot. However, after activating them they stay active even after rebooting. 1b. The master volume changes only headphone volume, not internal speakers. This is true for me as well. I had to set the volume applet to control the internal speakers only. The Fn keys are still connected to the master volume, I don't know how to change that (and that's not a fix of the real problem anyway). 1c. External microphone works after turning on capture in Volume Control and setting the jack mode to Mic. Internal microphone just gives static noise. I think I have read about these issues with other distros as well. If you find a distro that works, could you please tell us since that might help us find a solution? -- RealTek ALC260 Sound Card on Dapper + Internal Microphone https://launchpad.net/bugs/62891 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
