Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox
Versions:
language-support-en: 1:7.04+20070209
firefox(meta package): 3.0~b3+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
The firefox meta package lists mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb 2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu2
as
a conflict. However, the version of language-support-en listed above has this
version of mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb listed as a dependency(according to
aptitude, and apparently synaptic to), so the firefox meta package is removed
when you try to install the language-support-en package. If you install the
firefox
meta package anyway, then the language-support-en package is removed and
the English locale packages are no longer 'required', and thus removed(unless
manually installed).
Is this the desired effect, or did something go seriously wrong in the
dependencies?
Ubuntu version:
>[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/lsb-release
>DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
>DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
>DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
>DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"
