I have added more info to my Ubuntu Forums topic. Just today I tried booting with a Debian LiveCD and it worked fine. The current Ubuntu 7.10 LiveCD will not.
I can glady upload all files I had posted in the forum if it would help. I hope this will get fixed soon as I have no working CD-drives.
