Public bug reported:
i have an acer aspire 3023, where i installed ubuntu dapper.
i had continuos freeze (twice everyday), i couldn't do anything else then
shutting down the computer, pushing power button.
this freezes finished since i removed powernowd package.
the version of the package was the current used in dapper.
