Hello,

@Fabio:

1. try to use only one framebuffer driver.

2. Maybe if helps to disable the Ubuntu-splash during boot (Remove
"splash" "quiet" from the kernel command line in /boot/grub/menu.lst)

I have an older nvidia graphic in my notebook (GeForce4 420 Go) and use the
nvidia-glx (9639) too . When I boot with ubuntu-splash enabled, I get on
tty1..6 black screens with randomly spread green squares. Just before the
splash appears I can see for a very short time the kernel-output on the screen,
so I think the console works before the splash comes up.
When I disable the splash I get a blank screen for the first, hm. say 15
seconds, until the kernel loads the vesafb module. It's output is the first
appearing on the screen. But then the console works in 1024x768 (which is the
native resolution of my LCD).

Best regards,
Thomas.
