Public bug reported:
I was running ubuntu on a laptop from the 7:10 live cd, when the sistem
got completely freezed.
Unique signal of life: the cd running very actively.
The mouse wasn't freezed, sometimes I could move its cursor. But a
gnome-terminal I had opened was freezed, and so all the other
application I was running. Only the cd continued live, and I could hear
that the sistem was reading a lot from it.
I hadn't any other application that could be responsible of using the
cd.
Since I hadn't installed the ssh-server, I couldn't log from another pc.
Anyway, I suspect the ssh server could not have the time slice to answer
the request.
The only explanation I see is that a cron job has run updatedb, and it
has begun to read all the filesystem without realizing the system files
in the live cd weren't worth controlling.
** Affects: cron (Ubuntu)
