Well ... if grub-update is going to generate kernel and xen entries, it should probably create them properly and it should probably add serial console stuff as anyone running a remote server will be using this. (and it doesn't , so that's point #1)
As the configuration between standard kernel -> xen is incompatible re; serial console handling, it would be nice if the xen install at the very least mentioned this before making your remote machine unbootable. (that's point #2) Point #3; I had to go back to Xen/the Xen lists to get a fix for this and ended up using a xen kernel. So what's the point in trying to use Ubuntu server ? Point #4; I've just spend the entire weekend fighting ubuntu / hardy / kernel / xen upgrades .. now's not a good time to ask is anything Ubuntuish is a problem. See my last posting for a definitive fix, it would be really nice if this was incorporated into the install. In summary, THIS IS something Ubuntu should be dealing with .. that is of course if you want to make it one better than compiling everything from scratch and reading the original documentation. -- Serial Console redirection no longer works properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160455 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
