Originally, I wanted to install gxine on my Ubuntu computer which cannot connect to the internet. To do that, I downloaded the necessary packages from packages.ubuntu.com with Firefox on a different computer and installed them in Ubuntu. This, however, did not work with libxine1. When I tried to install the downloaded libxine1 package, I got a message saying that it needed to download libxine1. I assume this would also have happened if I had been able to use Synaptic Package Manager.
The way I got around the problem was by downloading the necessary packages for gxine from http://packages.debian.org/. It involved downloading several additional packages, but it was worth it because I can now watch DVD's in Ubuntu. -- libxine1 is listed as a dependency of itself https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176010 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
