Thanks for your reply. 
I still wonder though - why don't you use standard regular expressions? I'm 
sure you can find libraries for them so they're easy to integrate and everyone 
in IT knows them. Are these actually MSWord -style regexes? I must confess I am 
annoyed by those and also they are less powerful.
