Sadly no .Crash file is created, it seems more that the screensaver
hangs.
To provide some more information, I ran gnome-screensaver-preferences
(displaying the crashing screensaver) in strace, the log is included.
Detailled steps of what I did in this strace:
* Launch gnome-screensaver-preferences
* gnome-screensaver-preferences displays the crashing screensaver
("Vlechtwerk"), as this is the current active screensaver
* The system hangs
* I press CONTROL-ALT-BACKSPACE
* The X server reboots 10 seconds after I have pressed the key combination
However, as the strace log looks normal and the application did not crash, I
ran gnome-screensaver-preferences through strace, but monitoring the strace my
self. That way I was able to spot where the application hangs:
* read(3, 0x8069fcc, 4096) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
* read(3, 0x8069fcc, 4096) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
* gettimeofday({1203409986, 844239}, NULL) = 0
* poll(
at that point gnome-screensaver-preferences hangs for about 10 seconds,
sometimes it proceedes a bit (to hang at a next similar occurence), sometimes
it hangs forever at that piece of code.
If I can provide more information, please say so.
