Hello, I followed the steps for reproducing the error with gdb (backtrace) and was unable to reproduce the error this way, although I am able to reproduce the error consistently when starting gnome-system-log normally (from System / Administration menu).
If I precede the menu command with "gksu" (or run gnome-system-log from a root terminal), the problem is NOT reproduced. also, I noticed that many log files belong to user 'root' and group 'adm', yet I do no have a group 'adm' on my system, though I do have an 'admin' group. I don't know if this is relevant to this problem. My normal user account is a member of 'admin'. -- Log Viewer 2.20.0.1 quits unexpectedly when opening apache2 error.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/193286 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
