I have experienced the same problem. This bug seems to be exactly
similar to bug #39091 ("rainbow like" crash), which was marked as a
duplicate of bug #29880, though it is different. The bug is not about a
XServer crash on startup but rather about random (or it seems so)
crashes. Furthermore, the fix released for bug #29880 does not solve my
problem with an up-to-date Kubuntu Dapper.Should bug #39091 be reopened ? I have also tried to recompile xorg with the call to "ValidatePci();" commented out as shown in https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/29880/comments/36, but it doesn't change anything. I said that xserver crash happened randomly, but actually I can always reproduce it by opening Firefox and browsing the page http://www .voyages-sncf.com/ or http://www.rtve.es/, just like it happened to Point with Opera's website (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source /xorg-server/+bug/39091/comments/9). The rest of the time, I don't know what action leads to the crash (it really seems random).
