** Description changed:

+ By advance sorry for my english, i'm french
+
On Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10), kernel 2.6.22-14-generic

I've tried to change my monitor via Système-Administration-Screens and
Display. By default , it was set to generic monitor. When i have opened
this, my root password was asked. I've tried to add my screen (Philips
109B5) with the driver (file .inf) from the cd-rom. But the problem is
that : when i 'm clicking on the screen model and on the add button, i
can't access to /media/cdrom to select the file .inf. I think it's a bug
because when i'm trying to click two times on root, i still can't access
  to /media.
