Seems fixed in AMD64 7.10.

$ ldd closed
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00002b9d1e191000)
/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00002b9d1df73000)
$ apt-show-versions -p libc6
libc6/gutsy uptodate 2.6.1-1ubuntu10

libc6's printf and fprintf don't return -1 on closed stdout/stderr.
