Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, this isn't a bug, since it's a configurable issue:
Copy the system wide configuration file to your home directory:
$ cp /etc/conky/conky.conf ~/.conkyrc
Open ~/.conkyrc with any editor you like and change the line reading
"own_window yes" to "own_window no".
