What I am searching for is the feature that the action you described in your second comment (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnomebaker/+bug/195239/comments/2) does actually change more than just the displayed tree node name.
It should also change the drive label, which you can currently change only in the third tab of the StartDlg. I just had a look into the code, but as I am no C programmer, I don't think I'm the right person to try and come up with a patch.
