Hi, the behavior is a little bit different now. I upgraded to kde 3.5.9 but it's still not working but at least the applications are not freezing now. When I'm setting the default web browser in System Settings to open the http and https link in an application based on the contents of the url (so if inside konqueror in this case as choose in the association files) konqueror seems to open the link (I can see in the taskbar that konqueror is trying to be open) but it'll never open. If I force the link to be open inside konqueror or firefox it's working fine. So now it's seems that the problem is more inside the association files.
