Hi,

   It's been 3 months since I reported that.  There have been many changes
to the system since then.  I've changed to at least 2 different drivers,
since then.  Everything is actually working great, right now, and in 1280 x
1024 x 67 Hz.
   I'll see if I can reproduce the problem, with the original driver.  It
seems, as I recall, that the GUI Configuration changed the configuration on
the fly - to 800 x 600, but with a scrolling window of 640 x 480 within the
800 x 600 virtual screen.  Then, upon reboot, all would return to 640 x
480.  Almost like the GUI and running program were updated, but not the
config. on disk.  Maybe this is as expected, if the "Make default for this
computer only (*name*)" is not checked?
   I'll attach the files in any case.
