The bug is still not solved! I have similar experience with an up-to-date Gutsy system, installed about 2 weeks ago.
So first ntp can't start, because /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate runs in the same time. If I disable the ntpdate script (write an "exit 0" in the beginning) then ntp starts, but _before_ my network card is up (I'm using DHCP), so ntp can't resolve the server names , can't find any server and it doesn't keep the time. So please *Open this bug* again and look into it. I don't want to remove the network-manager, as others suggested, because it removes ubuntu- desktop. Thanks, Attila -- network-manager stops and restarts already ifup'ed interfaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/90267 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
