What happens when you put in the Live CD and select: Boot from First Hard Disk?
GRUB has problems (sometimes) detecting multiple operating systems and selecting the correct boot parameters in menu.lst or grub.conf. Sometimes you have to manually edit them to get GRUB to find all of the OS's loaded.
