I had the same problem. 10 second waiting was killing me. My problem was network settings.
I'm newbee, so don't expect expert description. I use mint (mint=ubuntu) I lunched [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gksu network-admin At general it was: hostname: bonimint domain: bnnb At hosts it was: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 bonimint.bnnb I changed it to At general: hostname: bonimint ###### unchanged domain: ###### removed At hosts: 127.0.0.1 bonimint ###### renamed 127.0.1.1 bonimint ###### unchanged or without.bnnb (no effect) That did it. Now everything is smooth again. This was in my case.
