Hi! I have the same problem using Hardy (latest-updates) and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 on my Acer Extensa 5620 laptop. This graphics card uses the same driver as the GM965 chip.
I'm new to Ubuntu Development so I don't know what more information I can provide.
