Public bug reported: Maybe this is a dup of both #147858 and #137470, BUT these are marked as fixed and do not get reopened in spite of my comments for a few days now.
Since I do find best practices on this bug tracker, I simply open a new bug report. Suggested fix in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/InstallingUbuntuOnADellVostro1700 was to turn off NCQ by piping "1" into /sys/block/sda/device/queue_depth I did this. What should I do now? I remember to see a patch where NCQ was turned off for ST980813AS in the kernel 2.6.24. But I do have a "ST980813ASG" (note the appended "G"). But then, I have turned off NCQ anyway by piping "1" into /sys/block/sda/device/queue_depth, didn't I?
