stsykin there were X updates yesterday (a bunch of them also a nvidia-glx update) ok make sure you have xserver-xorg-video-all installed and the linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17-10-generic or whatever kernel you are using -10 is the latest kernel for edgy. "sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-glx" than install it again and fix Xorg.conf to use the nvidia driver. i was having a simular issue yesterday and reinstalling the drivers worked. also make sure you have linux-generic (im pretty sure thats the name of the meta package) and reboot. P.S. ctrl+alt+delete restarts X not reboots but i think thats what you meant ;)
