Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The problem you encounter seems to be linked to the fact
that JeOS already includes those vmware kernel modules that were open-
sourced at the time of release.
On 7.10 (gutsy): In order to install the full vmware-tools, you need to
unload the module and delete them from
/lib/module/2.6.22-14-virtual/ubuntu/
On Hardy, a new package called open-vm-tools has been added which should
completely replace vmware-tools.
Marking this bug as fixed as we have a workaround.
