Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pidgin
I'm using the MSN protocol with a @hotmail.com email address in Pidgin.
During the transition from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3 Beta 3 the application
for handling the html mime type was shortly changed to Emacs. After
Firefox 3 had been installed I changed the application to Firefox 3.
Thus clicking on a html document in nautilus would open the page in
Firefox. However, Pidgin still opens the temporary authentication html
file in Emacs. If I navigate to the temp folder in nautilus and click
the temporary pidgin file it opens as it should in Firefox.
I can't seem to find an option in Pidgin where I can set which app to
handle the mail.
So either Pidgin should more consequently follow the apps that nautilus
uses, or an option to choose the app should be implemented in Pidgin.
Running Ubuntu 8.04 with the most recent updates.
** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu)
