Try this at the command line: sudo nano /etc/usplash.conf
It should look similar to the following:
# Usplash configuration file
xres=1024
yres=768
If you make changes, make sure you issue the following command:
sudo update-initramfs -u
** Changed in: usplash (Ubuntu)

Status: Unconfirmed => Needs Info
