Hmm, maybe it's better now but I tried on gutsy about a month ago on
some core2duo motherboard with onboard via graphics and it was
painful.

The xorg CPU utilization was at 100% from doing simple things like
opening a firefox tab. The second I installed unichrome the problem
went away - straight away got xv acceleration, very low CPU
utilization, etc.
