Slightly more fiddly than you might think since that code is shared with the server installer, and the current arrangements for picking a default would interfere with preseeding unless handled carefully. However, in Ubuntu 8.04, Ubiquity will warn if you pick something that's too small, so it's not so urgent to get the default right.
