Binary package hint: mythtv
System: Kubuntu Gutsy using AMD Athlon with nvidia card (Identifier
"nVidia Corporation NV44 [GeForce 6200 TurboCache(TM)]"). System hosts
both backend and frontend of mythtv.
When myth-frontend is started using the nvidia driver, tv can be watched
live and from recorded. But when nv driver is used instead, mythtv-
frontend starts properly and shows menu, but when tv is started from
live or recordings, it hangs the X server. Screen is blanked completely
(although mythtv is running in a window) and no further responses to
keyboard/mouse.
Mythtv-frontend on a second computer can be used to watch tv/recordning.
X Server on 1st computer can be killed from second computer and then
restarts with login screen.
