Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

Certain menu items (notably all the ones in Search menu) become
unavailable if file has changed, and gedit proposes the user to reload
the file. This can be extremely annoying when working on files changing
constantly, such as logs.

Steps to reproduce:
(
-1 Open a text file with gedit
-2 Modify and save it through a third party program (such as nano)
-3 Focus on gedit again, a message warning you the file has change and can be
reloaded appears. Some menu items are unavailable as long as you don't answer
the warning.
