I have a Thinkpad X40, which (according to lspci) has an Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device. I originally installed dapper and have since upgraded it to edgy with basically no xorg.conf tweaks and I see the following:
$ grep -i aiglx /var/log/Xorg.0.log (==) AIGLX enabled [a bunch of warnings about unsupported visuals snipped] (II) AIGLX: Loaded and initialized /usr/lib/dri/i915_dri.so $ grep -i composite /var/log/Xorg.0.log (II) Initializing built-in extension COMPOSITE so it looks to me like it has been enabled, here at least. -- AIGLX is not turned on by default for 855GM cards https://launchpad.net/bugs/61420 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
