Marking as Confirmed. Perhaps it's a graphics card/driver issue. If
there are no errors from the command line, then perhaps there is a
bottleneck with the reading of the thumbnails and displaying the
graphics. What are the specs of your machine? If I understand
correctly, when the thumbnails are small (42 pixels or near the size of
the panel, then the response is slow?
I spent 10 minutes with all different zoom levels and screen sizes. The
only behavior I noticed was slight slowing of response when I had the
thumbnails 5 across. Screenshot attached. I just couldn't get it to
lock up at all.
