@offby1: Sorry, I closed the report just in the moment you posted something. I think you should file a new bug for the feature-request, maybe adding something like [Wishlist] in the bug title. In the report you should explain exactly what has to be improved, what package is affected (here: nautilus) etc. But I don't know if it is something that can be "fixed" in ubuntu. It sounds to me rather as an issue for upstream.
