I can't reproduce this bug with gnucash 2.2.1 and 2.2.3 with the english
locale using exactly the same amount that you said. Can you also provide
a screenshot of the problem? You can do this by typing the Prnt Screen
key of your keyboard ( generally on the top-right corner of your
keyboard ). You can attach the screenshot by going to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnucash/+bug/190593 , login
with your email and password, and attach the screenshot to the bug
report.

You can know if you use visual effect by going in System / Preferences /
Appearance, in the visual effects tab.

Also maybe a little question, do you use canadian or US dollars? What is
the exact currency?
