Thanks for your suggestion. I agree, Festival is only slightly better
than Amiga's speech engine. Unfortunately the good voices out there are
closed source. Voice recognition is in a similar sad state. There is
some work going on at Cornel using more advanced sound sampling
techniques and better voices for Festival. Still not on par with Mac.
I'm not familiar with Vista's voice engine.
And this is for English. I have no idea how Festival holds up with
foreign languages.
