Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

Suspend to RAM/Resume used to work fine on gusty amd64.
Setting VIDEO_POST=false on /etc/acpi-support/acpi-support.conf manually was
necessary though, otherwise the laptop doesn' t resume correctly (I get only a
black screen and " vbetool post" uses up 100% proc. Switching to X - alt+f7 -
brings X back, but without network and with vbetool still runnning).

On up-to-date hardy resume just does not work, even setting
VIDEO_POST=false on /etc/acpi-support/acpi-support.conf it still doesnt
work (vbetool post is still ran and hangs the resume process as
described above). Even commenting "vbetool post" on
/etc/acpi/resume.d/15-video-post.sh doesnt work (vbetool post is still
ran).

I'm on a Toshiba Satellite A205-4797 laptop.

** Affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
