Hi.
I've now confirmed that starting X with "startx" instead of KDM gives the same
result (black screen, no response from ctrl-f1, ctrl-f2).
I also noticed that sshd is still running and that I can log in to the machine
from another one nearby. I've installed the dbg-packages as suggested but can't
seem to get a stack-trace. I am following the instructions to the letter but
still nothing.
I've attached to the process with gdb and killed off the process but I get
nothing, not even the "gdb" prompt back.
How do we continue this? I'd like to find a solution as it's not very amusing
to use VESA as the primary graphics controller. The performance is somewhat on
the low end, to say the least.
