Public bug reported:

The Software: Kubuntu Heron 8.04 alpha5 i386 regular disk, checked for errors
and successful install
The Hardware: Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400 laptop, Intel CoreDuo2 2.0 gHz, 2 GB
RAM, ATI X1400 video card, 80 GB 7200 RPM hard drive, 1680x1050 widescreen
monitor.

After a seemingly successful installation to sda1, Kubuntu boots into
Busybox. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the Busybox prompt. I tried
adding the irqpoll parameter to the kernel line in Grub, but that did
not help. I have been unable to run the first boot and therefore unable
to create a user on this system.

In sda2 I have a working Feisty installation, so I can read any files on
sda1 if need be. Feisty installs fine, but needs to have X manually
configured when installing.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
