I had this error also when lauching medusa4 under hardy. To workaround this problem, I've put the feisty libXft.*.so* library in a /opt/my-program/lib folder and then I've ran the program using something like:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/my-program/lib/ my-program But... What about fixing this library for retro-compatibility?
