Yes, that is correct. The PC case, sold as Home theater PC, has an LCD
monitor on the front. It provides media info, mail etcetera

On closing down system in linux, it doesn't power down.

I attempted to install the linux drivers from
http://venky.ws/projects/imon/ .

Either didn't install correct or doesn't integrate with Ubuntu.

should or shouldn't be?  From what you've given us I'd guess that your
monitor is not powering off when you turn off your computer.  Is that
